Wanted Fugitive Arrested Without Incident

At approximately 3p.m., Monday, August 15, the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force verified a location on a wanted fugitive in the City of Duluth. The fugitive, 29-year-old Austin Webster, was determined to be in the 400 block of N 76th Ave W. Webster has a warrant for Violation of Probation on a 1st Degree Sale of Heroin/Fentanyl Mix and is also out on bail for 2nd Degree Assault and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person for an alleged shooting in St. Louis County.

Based on the allegations, the Duluth Police Departments Tactical Response Team, with the help of the Superior Police Department’s Bear Cat, the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, and Duluth Police Officers assisted in taking Webster into custody without incident.

Everyone involved did an excellent job in defusing a potential volatile situation that resulted in a peaceful arrest.
