INCIDENT LOCATION: 600 Block of East First Street
Seventeen year old Duluth male charged in Robbery and Assault.
On Thursday, August 19th, 2010, at 6:32 a.m., Duluth Police investigated the report of a robbery that occurred earlier in the 600 Block of East First Street. The victim, a 52 year old Duluth man, told officers that he was walking to work at about 5 a.m. that morning when he was confronted by four males who demanded money. The four males, who were in their late teen’s/early twenties, then assaulted the victim and fled taking a small amount of cash along with the victim’s cell phone. The victim was treated at St. Mary’s Medical Center for a laceration over his eye and a knee abrasion.
On Tuesday, August 24th, 2010, a 17 year old Duluth male was charged in Sixth Judicial District Court in Duluth for his part in the robbery and assault. The 17 year old was charged with First Degree Aggravated Robbery, Third Degree Assault, both felonies, and Gross Misdemeanor Fifth Degree Assault. His next scheduled court appearance is September 24th.
Police are still looking for others involved in this robbery and assault and ask that anyone with information call the Duluth Police Department Juvenile Investigative Unit at 730-5560. No further information is available at this time.
