LSVOTF Arrest Individual
Thursday, September 8, Investigators from the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, with assistance from Investigators from DPD’s Major Crimes Unit, and K-9 handler Kaine Kaase with partner Athena, executed a search warrant in the 900 block of E 3rd St, the residence of 66-year-old John Rieck for methamphetamine sales.
During the execution of the search warrant, Investigators located over 900 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of a fentanyl/cocaine mix, fentanyl, a loaded sawed off/short barreled 12 gauge shotgun, a large amount of US currency, and indica of drug sales.
Reick was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail on charges of Aggravated 1st Degree Sale of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Sawed Off/Short Barreled Shotgun.
Reick has numerous felony convictions dating back to 1978, which include kidnapping, aggravated assault, and possession/manufacture/sale of controlled substances. He is also out on bail from two controlled substance crimes with one involving a firearm in Pine County.
The Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force with the help of many other agencies work hard to make a safe community for all in St. Louis, Carlton, and Lake counties along with the cities of Duluth, Superior, Hibbing, and Virginia.
