Duluth Police Department Pink Patch Project
The Duluth Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project for the second year. This is an annual campaign during the month of October that raises awareness and helps fight against all cancers.
“The Duluth Police Department is honored to participate in this innovative public awareness campaign for another year,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa. “This campaign is another way that members of our police department will continue to carry out our mission of serving in a selfless manner.”
Throughout the month of October, during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, members of our police department will be wearing pink commemorative patches. These patches will also be available for the public to purchase for $10/patch during the month of October.
Patches can be purchased online. If you purchase a patch online, send your receipt to police@duluthmn.gov and we’ll send you your patch upon confirmation of purchase, or you can stop at the DPD’s lobby, 2030 North Arlington Ave., Monday through Friday and a volunteer will give you a patch.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society and will help continue its mission of treating all cancers.
“Everyone knows someone who’s been affected by cancer,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa. “DPD wants to continue to support all members of our community and this is one way we’ll continue to unite in finding a cure to this potentially deadly disease.”
Last year, the Duluth Police Department raised $2,853 for the American Cancer Society. This year, DPD hopes to raise even more.
The Duluth Police Department will join other agencies in the State of Minnesota who is also part of the Pink Patch Project to present a check to the American Cancer Society. Follow our social media pages to stay updated on this event.
