Individual Arrested on Pending Charges of 1st Degree Sale of Controlled Substances
At approximately 12:20 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, a Duluth Police Officer on D shift responded to a suspicious vehicle near the 1300 block of Commonwealth Avenue. The owner of the vehicle, later identified as 62-year-old Silver Bay resident Robert Clement, is known by the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) as a methamphetamine dealer. LSVOTF Investigator Stutsman and K9 Maverick respond to the scene. K9 Maverick alerts to the presence of controlled substances at the rear passenger side of the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle is conducted and 87.99 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a scale were recovered from the area K9 Maverick alerted to. Clement was arrested and lodged at the St. Louis County Jail on pending charges of 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance. Good work by responding officers for apprehending this individual to continue to make Duluth a drug-free community.
