Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force Conduct Search Warrant

At approximately 3:05 p.m., Monday, November 7, members of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 110 block of S 67th Ave W. Prior to executing the search warrant, LSVOTF Investigators witnessed a 32-year-old male with warrants leave the residence. During a traffic stop in the area of 78th Ave W and Coleman St, investigators apprehended 32-year-old Phillip Burch.

During the search warrant of the residence on 67th Ave W, LSVOTF members seized two loaded stolen handguns, body armor, a stolen fat tire bike, a stolen generator, and two stolen lawnmowers along with multiple drugs and ammunition. While conducting the search warrant, 51-year-old Ronald Fairbanks, 35-year-old Kevin Shabaiash, and 20-year-old Elijah Cloud were also arrested.

Burch was arrested for pending charges of 3rd Degree Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Firearm and Ammo, Obstructing Legal Process without Force, and his warrants for Probation Violation, Theft, and Trespass. Fairbanks was arrested for his warrants for Failure to Register for a Predatory Offender and False Name to Police Officer. Shabaiash was arrested for his warrants of 5th Degree Assault, Theft, and Fleeing a Police Officer. Cloud was arrested for his warrants of False Name, 5th Degree Possession, and Theft.

Good work by Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force members and Duluth Patrol Officers on B Shift for apprehending these violent offenders and continuing to take weapons off the streets.
