12th and 14th Avenue East to be converted to two way streets
Starting Monday morning, September 13, 2010, the City of Duluth will be converting 12th Avenue East and 14th Avenue East to two way traffic between London Road and 4th Street.
Traffic signals along 12th Ave East at the intersections of 1st Street, 2nd Street and 3rd Street will be shut off. A new temporary traffic signal will be turned on at the intersection of 12th Avenue East and Superior Street to accommodate two way traffic traveling on 12th Avenue East.
Stop signs will be in place along 12th Avenue East at the intersections of 3rd Street, 2nd Street and 1st Street for north and south bound traffic.
Traffic Signals along 14th Avenue East at the intersections of 3rd Street, 2nd Street and Superior Street will be shut off. Stop signs will be in place along 14th Avenue East at the intersections of 3rd, 2nd, 1st and Superior Streets for north bound and south bound traffic.
The conversion is dependent on favorable weather. Dry conditions are necessary to paint lane lines. In the event of rain, the conversion will be postponed.
