Duluth Police Detain Individual for Pending Terrorist Threats and 2nd Degree Assault Charges

At approximately 8 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, Duluth Police responded to the area of N 6th Ave E and E 3rd St for a report of a male that threatened a security officer with an edged weapon. Upon arrival, officers located a male, later identified as 54-year-old George Amendolare, in the area holding an edged weapon. Officers set up a perimeter and gave commands to Amendolare to set down the weapon. Amendolare eventually complied and was detained without incident. The edged weapon was seized. Amendolare was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation, was cleared, and transported to the St. Louis County Jail on pending Threats of Violence charges.
