Male Detained for Pending Threats of Violence, Disorderly Conduct, and Obstructing Charges

At approximately 4:45p.m., Tuesday, February 28, Duluth Police responded to an agitated male making threats to a female who was believed to be in the residence. The comments made by the male lead us to further believe their was a female inside. The male barricaded himself in an apartment and refused to exit the residence. Several apartments were temporarily evacuated as this incident unfolded.

The Duluth Police Department’s Crisis Response Team and Tactical Response Team responded to the scene and attempted to negotiate with the male. After multiple failed attempts to get the male to exit the residence, TRT forced entry into the apartment. No female was located in the apartment.

54-year-old George Amendolare was apprehended. Amendolare was cleared by medical on scene and then was transported to a local hospital by Mayo Ambulance. He will be booked at the St. Louis County Jail for pending Threats of Violence, Disorderly Conduct, and Obstructing charges. Good work for all involved for quickly and safely diffusing this situation.
