Male Arrested on Aggravated Robbery Charges

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Duluth Police responded to the report of an armed robbery in the area of 1st Avenue East and 4th St. A cab driver stated they picked up 19-year-old Duluth resident Jaquiel Ogima, who demanded money from them while holding a gun. The driver gave Ogima money and Ogima fled the scene.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., Ogima was located in the 100 block of East 3rd St and arrested without incident.

Ogima was booked at the Saint Louis County Jail on an arrest warrant for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery, Threats of Violence, and 2nd Degree Assault charges. A firearm was located and seized during the execution of a search warrant.

Great work by Patrol Crew’s A & D for identifying the suspect. Great work by the Duluth Police Major Crimes Investigators, and the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force for locating the violent offender and taking him into custody without incident. The selfless actions by these officers continue to keep Duluth safe for all.
