DPD Detains Male for Attempted Aggravated Robbery Charges

At approximately 10:50 p.m., Sunday, April 9, Duluth Police Officers responded to 2nd Ave E and 1st St for a report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival, officers located an individual who sustained an injury to their leg from a bat. The subject stated they were walking when a male, later identified as 20-year-old Duluth resident Chase Covington, approached them, demanded money from them, and hit them with a bat. Officers on B shift reviewed surveillance video and investigated the incident. Officers located Covington a short time later and detained Covington. The bat was located and seized. He was transported to the St. Louis County Jail for pending Attempted Aggravated Robbery charges.

Good work by Officers on B shift for thoroughly investigating this incident and holding Covington accountable for his actions.
