Update to Saturday's Shooting
FINAL UPDATE: At approximately 6:15 p.m.,Tuesday, May 16, the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, following up on information provided by the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, took 36-year-old Mikiyel Deshone Patton into custody without incident in the city of Columbia Heights, Minnesota on an arrest warrant for 2nd Degree Assault, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm in a Municipality related to the shooting that occurred on Saturday, May 13 in the 100 block of E 3rd St. No further information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE: A 59-year-old male who wasn’t involved in the incident was struck by a bullet. The individual had non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
ORIGINAL: Duluth Police are on scene in the 100 block of E 3rd St for a report of a shooting. The individuals involved were known to each other. The suspected male fled the scene. This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
