Monday, June 12 at Riverside Park – 55 Cato Street
Story and Play at Riverside Park – 9:30 am – 12:00 pm: Storytime is coming to you! Join us in a different neighborhood park each week for outdoor family storytimes at 9:30 a.m. followed by book checkout with Little Library Go and fun kids’ activities with Parks and Recreation. Geared to children aged birth to 5 but all ages are welcome.

Friends of the Duluth Public Library Annual Summer Book Sale DAY ONE: Members-Only Presale - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Members of the Friends of DPL get the chance to shop a day early. Become a Friend on the day of the sale. All proceeds from the sale go to support free programming for library patrons of all ages. Build your own home library and contribute to a good cause at the same time. There will be a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction books for all ages and areas of interest.

Baby Storytime - 5:00 - 7:00 pm: Join us at the Mount Royal Branch for a brief storytime ideal for babies birth age to 24 months, then stay for early literacy playtime and socialization.

June’s selection is The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. July’s title is The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. We will meet outside, on the Library Plaza. For adults.

Main Library Family Storytime - 10:15 - 10:45 am: Join us for Family Storytime! Geared for birth to preschool-aged kids. We will share books, songs, and fingerplays. The focus will be on having fun and sharing the joy of learning essential early literacy skills. Please note that, while the Summer Book Sale is being held in the Green Room, storytimes at the Main Library will be held in the Youth Services area.

Wednesday, June 14 at West Duluth Branch– 5830 Grand Avenue
West Duluth Branch Family Storytime - 10:15 - 10:45 am: Join us each Wednesday morning at the West Duluth Branch for stories, songs, and fingerplays for children from birth to kindergarten and their grownups! The focus will be on having fun and sharing the joy of learning essential early literacy skills.

Wednesday, June 14 at Mt. Royal Branch – 105 Mt. Royal Shopping Circle
LEGACY event: CLIMB Theatre presents “The Ant and the Grasshopper” – 3:30 - 4:15 pm: In this continuation of Aesop's Fable, The Ant and the Grasshopper, two friends compete together to find their voices, however hard-working Ant and playful Grasshopper are having trouble finding their harmony.  With the help of Queen Bee and the audience, Ant and Grasshopper will learn to BEE Kind, BEE a Friend, and BEE Together as they work towards creating a sound where everyone's voice is a part of the chorus. The program is 35 minutes long and is geared to kids up to 10 years old and their families.

Friends of the Library Annual Summer Book Sale BAG DAY - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm: The last day of the book sale. Fill a grocery bag with books from select rooms for $5.

City Sounds Outdoor Concert Series with Blue Water Big Band - 6:00 - 7:30 pm: The City Sounds concert series is back for another summer at the library! We are starting our summer off strong with Blue Water Big Band! Come and listen to some great hits from music history and dance the night away on our wonderful outdoor plaza.
