Duluth Police Respond to Incident at Holiday Inn Ramp

UPDATE:

After hours of negotiating with the Duluth Police Department’s Crisis Negotiations Team and patrol officers, the 34-year-old Duluth resident chose to jump from the Holiday Inn ramp. The male was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries related to the fall. His name will be withheld until next of kin is notified. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and loved ones.

ORIGINAL:

Duluth Police are on the scene at the Holiday Inn ramp in downtown Duluth with a male making suicidal threats.

DPD’s Crisis Negotiations Team has been called to the scene and are working on building a rapport with this individual to bring this to a safe resolution and get him the help he needs.

We encourage the public to stay away from this area to allow our officer’s room to work.
