Monday, July 10 at Hillside Sport Court – 408 E 8th St.
Story and Play at the Park 9:30 am - 12:00 pm:

Storytime is coming to you! Join us in a different neighborhood park each week for outdoor family storytimes at 9:30 a.m. followed by book checkout with Little Library Go and fun kids’ activities with Parks and Recreation. Geared towards children aged birth to 5 but all ages are welcome.

Maker Mondays at Main  2:00 - 4:00 pm: Every Monday we’ll have a new maker program to keep you inspired and having fun throughout the summer.  Some of the programs will be messy, so wear appropriate clothes. On July 11, we will be working with Perler Beads!

 

Monday, July 10 at West Duluth Branch – 5830 Grand Ave.
Outdoor Fun Day 2:00 - 4:00 pm: Join us at the West Duluth Branch for sunshine and outdoor games in our backyard. We will have some traditional yard games and a few water games to help beat the heat. All ages are welcome for this outdoor event. If we get rained out, the fun will be moved inside.

Baby Storytime 10:15 - 10:45 am: Join us for a brief storytime ideal for babies from birth age to 24 months, then stay for some early literacy playtime and socialization.

Kaleidoscope: The Dollipops 10:30 am and 1:30 pm: Get ready to sing, dance, and laugh with the engaging, high-energy, highly interactive new kids' show - The Dollipops! Dolli and Pop are sisters who have traveled all the way from Sweet Tart City to bring you on a magical and musical road trip that is sure to get kids (and their parents!) moving, grooving, and making memories. From classic beach tunes to current Hollywood and pop hits, Dolli and Pop use music to allow kids the chance to use their imaginations, to sing and dance along, and even to enjoy their very own four and a half minutes of fame!

Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Club 6:00 – 7:00 pm: If you’ve never tried science fiction or fantasy, now is the time! July’s book club selection is The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. August’s selection is Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. No registration is required.

NASA Inspires Future’s for Tomorrow’s Youth 10:15 - 10:45 am: This STEM programming series features space science activities for youth ages 9-14 to engage in STEM studies and NASA career pathwaysRegistration is required. 

This week’s program is all about parachutes! Parachutes play a major role in NASA’s space program. Learn how parachutes work, how they have been used by NASA for space travel, and build your own designs in this hands-on program.

Thursday, July 13 at Lester Park – 61st Ave East and Superior Street
Adventure Book Club The Wolf’s Trail: An Ojibwe Story, Told by Wolves  10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Join us for a book discussion in one of Duluth’s beautiful parks, followed by an optional, low-impact hike led by Parks and Recreation. We will meet at the overhang area off the parking lot at Lester Park to discuss July’s selection, The Wolf’s Trail: An Ojibwe Story, Told by Wolves by Thomas D. Peacock. Selected as 2023’s One Book Northland title, The Wolf’s Trail tells the story of the Ojibwe people through the eyes of an elder wolf. Dr. Peacock will be at the event to participate in the book club discussion and answer questions you may have. Registration is required.
