Duluth Man arrested on drug charges after police execute search warrant at his home.
On Friday, October 1, 2010, at 9:55 AM, Duluth Police along with members of the Lake Superior Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant in the 600 Block of North 22nd Avenue West. The home is the residence of Michael Wayne Olson, age 45. During the execution of the search warrant investigators located an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Olson was taken into custody and lodged at the St. Louis County Jail pending formal charges for First Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance and First Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.
At the time of his arrest, Olson was on parole for Controlled Substance conviction in 2005. Olson has six previous convictions for Controlled Substance crimes dating back to 1991. In September of 1991 Olson was convicted of Sale of Marijuana, Sale of Cocaine, and Sale of LSD. He also has convictions in: August of 1996 for Sale of Marijuana; May of 2000 for Second, Fourth, and Fifth Degree Controlled Substance violations; August of 2001 for Fifth Degree Controlled Substance violation; and April of 2005 for Third and Fourth Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
