12 P.M. AUGUST 4 UPDATE:
The Duluth Police Department is releasing the name of the victim from the shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 2 in the 2500 block of W 2nd St. 19-year-old Duluth resident Paris Allen died from a gunshot wound. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Allen's family, friends, and loved ones as they are grieving his loss.
11 A.M., AUGUST 3 UPDATE:
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, Duluth Police Officers responded to the 2500 block of W 2nd St for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, two victims were located. One victim, a 19-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital by an ambulance where he was pronounced dead. The second victim, an 18-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremities and was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle. He is expected to survive his injuries.
At approximately 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of W 4th St for a second shooting incident. No victims were located at the scene. DPD has reason to believe this is a retaliation shooting stemming from the first shooting.
During the course of the investigation, Duluth Police Officers arrested 21-year-old Sanussi Bangoura for pending 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Homicide charges and 25-year-old Brandon Williams-Gillard for pending 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Homicide, and a Department of Corrections Violation of Supervised Release charges.
The Duluth Police Department believes this is an isolated incident among parties known to each other stemming from a prior argument. We are following leads and are actively investigating this incident. This remains a very active and ongoing investigation.

Another individual has been taken into custody. This remains an active and ongoing investigation as we continue to follow leads.
5:45 P.M. UPDATE:
At approximately 1:30 p.m. officers responded to the 2500 block of W 2nd St for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, two victims were located. One victim, a 19-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital by an ambulance where he was pronounced dead. His name will be released once next of kin is notified. The second victim, a 18-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle.
At approximately 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of W 4th St for a second shots fired incident. No victims were located at the scene. DPD believes these two incidents are related.
DPD has one individual in custody and is actively working this investigation.
UPDATE: Two victims were located at the 2500 block of W 2nd St incident. At approximately 2 p.m., Officers also responded to a second shots fired incident in the 3900 block of 4th St W. Initial investigation shows these two incidents are related.

ORIGINAL: Officers are on scene in the 2500 block of W 2nd St for a report of a shooting. This remains an active and ongoing incident and we encourage the public to stay away from the area to allow our officers room to work.
