Major street projects completed this week

 

The City of Duluth is completing two important road projects this week.  Woodland Ave, between St. Marie Street and Arrowhead Road, will be fully accessible starting tomorrow Wednesday, October 6, 2010. This project is part of an ongoing effort by the City of Duluth to make significant investments in maintaining Duluth’s infrastructure and quality of life. 

 

On Thursday, October 7, 2010, the City of Duluth will have completed the conversion of 6th Ave East to two way traffic between East 3rd Street and East 2nd Street. This conversion allows for more even distribution of traffic, alleviates congestion, and provides better access to local businesses and medical facilities. The conversion was recommended by businesses and residents as part of the Metropolitan Interstate Council’s (MIC) Endion Land Use study. 

 

The conversion will allow southbound traffic to continue down 6th Ave and be able to access East 2nd Street.
