City of Duluth to host two public meetings regarding the design of the upcoming West Superior Street reconstruction project on November 1
[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth is inviting the community to two public meetings regarding the reconstruction of West Superior Street between Carlton and West Michigan Streets. These meetings are intended to discuss feedback from the first two public meetings and to present a proposed design that incorporates that feedback as well as other design constraints. To allow for maximum public participation, two public meeting session options will be offered on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. One will be an in-person meeting, and the other session will be held virtually.
Project design and engineering will occur through 2024, with construction scheduled to take place from 2025 to 2028. Funding for the project will come from a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) federal grant, Municipal State Aid for Streets, and utility funds.
The scope of work for the project includes:
- Full reconstruction of the roadway and utilities
- Traffic signal study and recommendations
