SUBJECT: Two Arrested in Burglary of Taco Johns

Two arrested in Burglary of Taco Johns.
 
On Saturday, October 09, 2010, at 4:37 AM, Duluth Police responded to Taco Johns, 1810 London Road, on the report of a burglary in progress. The morning employee had arrived at the business and found two males, dressed in all black, inside the business and attempting to get into the safe. Officers arrived quickly and took the two suspects into custody without incident.
 
Nicholas Tyler Colvin, age 21 of Duluth, and Daniel Robert Nelson, age 20 of Duluth, were lodged at the Saint Louis County Jail pending formal charges for Third Degree Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools.
 
In May of this year Colvin pled guilty to Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol and was sentenced to one year of probation. Then in June, he pled guilty to Fifth Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to three years of probation for that offense.  Nelson has minor convictions for Underage Consumption, Fleeing Police on Foot, and a traffic offense. He is not on probation.
 
The investigation into the burglary is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
