Mayor Roger J. Reinert proposes new city council appointments to boards and commissions
[DULUTH, MN] Mayor Roger J. Reinert has proposed to Duluth City Council a number of appointments of city councilors to City of Duluth boards and commissions. The appointments were accepted into the consent agenda for the Monday, January 22 city council meeting.
The mayor’s appointments include both reappointments and new appointments. Councilor At Large Arik Forsman and Council President Roz Randorf were reappointed to the Duluth Economic Development Authority (DEDA) through a term ending on January 3, 2028. Fifth District Councilor Janet Kennedy was also appointed to DEDA through January 5, 2026, replacing Vice President Terese Tomanek. Second District Councilor Mike Mayou was reappointed to the Duluth Parking Commission through January 3, 2028. Councilor At Large Lynn Nephew was appointed to the Heading Home Advisory Committee with a term ending January 3, 2028.
Said Mayor Reinert of the appointments, “I’m grateful that these councilors are stepping up to lend their expertise and voices to the work that these boards do. Having sat on the council, I know how their part-time work can stack up quickly to much more than part-time, so I truly appreciate their commitment and participation.”
The appointment terms will go into effect immediately following the council's vote on Monday. Information about the City Council can be found at https://duluthmn.gov/city-council/.
