The Duluth Police Department is looking for 24 individuals who are interested in understanding police operations to attend the 2024 Citizen Police Academy (CPA). This academy will take place every Wednesday from 6 – 9 p.m. starting March 6 until May 22.
The Citizen Police Academy offers members of our community both in-field and in the classroom instructions regarding different tactics, operations, and divisions within the Duluth Police Department. There will be multiple opportunities for questions to gain a better understanding of Duluth Police practices and procedures, and the reasons for them.
“Community safety is all our responsibility, and the Citizen Police Academy is an opportunity for us to work with members of our community to make Duluth a safe place for all who live, work, and play here,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa.
If you’d like to attend this year’s CPA, fill out the application and criminal history form on our website here: https://duluthmn.gov/police/citizen-opportunities/citizen-police-academy/ and return the documents by emailing police@duluthmn.gov or dropping it off at the Public Safety Building (2030 N Arlington Ave).
