City of Duluth’s Commission on Disabilities’ Sidewalk Snow Removal Task Force and Love Your Block announce outreach events to encourage residents be “MinneSNOWta NICE” and help keep Duluth’s sidewalks clear of snow and ice
[DULUTH, MN] Love Your Block, along with the City’s Commission on Disabilities’ Sidewalk Snow Removal Task Force, invite the public to join the movement to “Be MinneSNOWta NICE” and keep Duluth’s sidewalks clear of snow and ice. In the City of Duluth, the condition of the 400+ miles of sidewalk impact the accessibility, public safety, and well-being of all community members. However, not everyone has the ability to clear sidewalk snow that our winters bring. To help bridge this gap, the ‘Be MinneSNOWta NICE’ campaign aims to develop, support, and empower a social network of neighbors-helping-neighbors to clear sidewalks and maintain mobility choices and accessibility in all seasons.
At two upcoming events, Duluth residents will be able to sign the Be MinneSNOWta NICE pledge to take care of their own sidewalk and the sidewalk of a person in need. Those signing the pledge will receive a free shovel or knit hat. Each event is free to attend. In addition to information, light snacks will be provided.
