City and Supervisory Union Reach Tentative Agreement

The City of Duluth and the City of Duluth Supervisory Association (CDSA) have reached a tentative agreement for the year 2010. As is the case with the tentative Police agreement, this is a one year agreement with no salary increases.

The membership will meet to discuss the tentative agreement at an August 27th meeting at 11:30 AM in the City Council Chambers. A vote to ratify the agreement will follow.

“Given the drastic cuts in state aid, it is absolutely critical that we agree to contracts without salary increases,” said Mayor Ness.  “City managers know first hand the struggle to maintain quality services during a time of decreasing revenue.  I appreciate the leadership of the CDSA union to assist in our shared effort to gain financial stability for the City of Duluth.”

CDSA President Nick Petrangelo agrees.  “This tentative agreement makes the most practical sense in light of today’s economic conditions.  Both parties look forward to continuing a strong working relationship in the future.”
