Duluth Workforce Development awarded DEED Pathways to Prosperity grants

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth’s Department of Workforce Development is proud to announce it has been awarded a total of $875,000 in Minnesota Department of Economic Development (DEED) Pathways to Prosperity grants. The grants allow Duluth Workforce Development to continue offering career pathway training for high-demand occupations.

The Career Pathways Training initiative is a multiagency partnership with SOAR Career Solutions, Duluth Adult Education, Lake Superior College, and Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. It provides three pathways:

-On-ramp—to assist jobseekers in building work readiness skills, earn industry-recognized certificates, and connect to employment;

-Bridge—short-term training classes earning college credit with built-in academic and case management support, and strong opportunities to connect to employment;

-Individualized—tuition assistance and paid internships for college students in high-demand career fields including healthcare, social work, construction, manufacturing, and K-12 education.

Career Pathways Training curriculums are designed with employer input and lead to occupations with high regional demand.

Upcoming classes include Certified Nursing Assistant, Intro to Medical Office, and Intro to Human Services.

Minnesota residents living in Saint Louis, Carlton, or Lake Counties are eligible and encouraged to apply. More information and an application link can be found here: https://duluthmn.gov/workforce-development/adults/, or you can call (218) 302-8400.
