UPDATE West Third Street lane closure and detour July 8 thru July 12
[Duluth, MN] Contractors working for the City will be closing the eastbound lanes of West 3rd Street to continue performing lead water service replacements throughout West Duluth. The current eastbound closure of the 2700 block is expected to reopen this week. The 2800 block (between 28th Ave West and 29th Ave West) will close to eastbound traffic next week, beginning Monday, July 8th. Detour will be south on 29th Ave West to 1st Street, 1st Street to 27th Avenue West, north to 3rd Street. The closure is anticipated to last one week and the road re-opened to traffic in both directions on Friday, July 12. During this time, it is noted that on-going work on 27th Avenue West will continue to have lane restrictions but be open to traffic in both directions.
The traffic interruption is only for eastbound traffic (Wheeler Park toward downtown). Westbound traffic will still be able to pass the work area, though drivers are advised to use caution and temporary delays may be experienced.
