Update to Early Morning Stabbing
2 p.m. 7/16/24 UPDATE:
Duluth Police arrested 30-year-old Duluth resident Jake Pyrlik for pending charges of 1st Degree Assault. Initial investigation shows the victim and Pyrlik were hanging out prior to the altercation when Pyrlik stabbed the victim in the neck and fled the scene on foot. The victim is in stable condition. What led up to the stabbing is still under investigation.
9:15 a.m. 7/16/24 ORIGINAL:
At approximately 3:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, Duluth Police responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred in the 200 block of E Superior St. A 29-year-old male victim was located with a stab wound to his neck. He was transported to a local hospital and his status is unknown at this time.
Initial investigation shows that the victim and the suspect are known to each other. This incident remains a very active and ongoing investigation. We will release additional information as the case progresses.
