Duluth City Council updates start time of City Council meeting on Monday, July 29

[DULUTH, MN] The Duluth City Council is announcing an earlier start time for their regular Monday City Council meeting on Monday, July 29. In order to ensure the council has time for both public comment and policy decisions, the Monday July 29 council meeting will begin at 5:15 PM, rather than 7:00 PM.

The public comment period will begin at 5:15 PM and continue until the council has heard from all who sign up to speak, or until 9:00 PM, whichever comes first. At 9:00 PM, the public comment period will close to allow the City Council to address the items on the agenda through discussion, deliberation, and voting.

Additionally, in order to ensure compliance with state fire code, admission to Council Chambers will be capped at the maximum occupancy as identified by the Duluth Fire Marshal. Overflow seating will be identified and a livestream with audio will be available for attendees in the overflow seating rooms. Speakers signed up to make public comment may be asked to cycle in and out of the Council Chambers to accommodate new speakers, should the maximum occupancy be reached.

Residents and attendees can choose to join the meeting online if they do not desire the opportunity to speak during the public comment period. Register to attend the meeting online here: https://duluthmn.gov/city-council/city-council-meetings-events/council-meeting-media/.
