UPDATE: Water restored to West Duluth customers following water main break

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] Water service has been restored to Grand Avenue businesses and residents affected by the early morning water main break on Grand Avenue near Central Avenue. Utility operations crews worked efficiently and speedily to repair the damaged utility infrastructure and will now work to backfill the dig site and remove the broken pavement debris.

 

The temporary closure to Grand Avenue will remain in place until a patch can be applied by City of Duluth street maintenance crews. A temporary street patch is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day tomorrow, August 30. Traffic will continue to be detoured around the site until the temporary patch is in place.

 

The City of Duluth thanks residents and businesses for their patience and understanding during the repair and resulting water outage. Kudos, too, to the Public Works and Utilities Department staff for their dedication to Duluth residents and businesses, and for their diligent round-the-clock response to the incident.
