Duluth Police Announces Pledge to the 30x30 Initiative on National Police Women’s Day
National Police Women’s Day is celebrated each year on September 12. Here, at the Duluth Police Department, we want to acknowledge and recognize the female officers who are dedicated to protecting and serving with and for our community.
Today, on National Police Women’s Day, the Duluth Police Department is announcing our pledge to the 30x30 initiative. The Duluth Police Department pledges to reach 30 percent of our sworn officers to be women by 2030.
“Joining the 30x30 initiative is our commitment to be representative of the people that we serve with,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa.
There are more than 300 agencies who’ve signed the 30x30 pledge, which advances women in policing through recruitment, retention, and representation in all ranks. At DPD, we have female officers in multiple facets of our agency from supervision, investigations, specialty units, and specialty teams. As an agency, we need diverse representation at all levels to ensure we are meeting our current staff’s needs and the communities expectations.
If you’re a female who’s interested in joining a career in law enforcement, we encourage you to check out our recruitment website and apply today! https://duluthmn.gov/police-recruitment/
