Duluth Police Respond to Person with a Weapon Call
At approximately 6 p.m., Sunday, September 15, Duluth Police responded to the area of Lake Avenue and Sutphin Street for a report of a person with a weapon. Officers quickly arrived and located a 52-year-old male who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis. The male was holding a knife threatening to harm himself with it.
Members of DPD attempted to negotiate with the male, who was initially uncooperative. The male was eventually detained and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. He will be cited with Disorderly Conduct.
