Male Lodged at County Jail for Multiple Pending Charges
58-year-old Jeffery Montana/Undahl was arrested and lodged at the St. Louis County Jail for pending charges of multiple counts of 1st Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Assault, Threats of Violence, and Felony Kidnapping. We appreciate the community's cooperation and vigilance throughout these past couple days as it played a role in identifying the suspect.

Male Arrested in Connection to the Burglaries
At approximately 3:15 p.m., Thursday, November 7, Duluth Police arrested the suspected male in connection to the burglaries that have occurred over the last three nights. This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.

UPDATE: Burglaries
On Wednesday, November 6, Duluth Police responded to another burglary that occurred in the 2500 block of East 2nd Street at approximately 9 p.m. Initial investigation shows a white male entered the residence and the occupant inside fled. While fleeing, they fell and received non-life-threatening injuries from the fall. Officers quickly responded and set up a perimeter. After a K9 track, drone deployments, and canvasing the area, the male was unable to be located.
“We share the concerns of our community and are working tirelessly to hold this individual accountable for his actions,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa. “We have staff canvasing the area around the clock and will continue to utilize our resources and surrounding partner agencies to make an arrest.”
The Duluth Police Department wants to remind the community to remain vigilant, lock your doors, and to not open your door to anyone you don’t know. If you see something – say something. Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood. We appreciate the members of the Congdon neighborhood for their continued vigilance and reporting suspicious activity since these burglaries have occurred.

ORIGINAL: Burglaries
On Monday, November 4, Duluth Police responded to the 200 block of West Kent Road for a report of a burglary. On Tuesday, November 5, Duluth Police responded to a report of another burglary that occurred in the area of 1500 Vermilion Road. Both these incidents occurred in the evening hours between 6 – 8 p.m.
Initial investigation shows that an individual, described as being a white male, entered both residences and made threats to the occupant’s inside. A resident in the West Kent Road incident was transported by Mayo Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The two residents in the Vermilion Road incident were also transported by Mayo Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Duluth Police Department believes these incidents may be related to each other and are encouraging the community to remain cautious and vigilant. It is believed these incidents are random involving the same suspected male. We want to remind the community that if you see something - say something. Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity.
