Release of Names/Press Conference on Tragic Event

The Duluth Police Department is releasing the names of the individuals involved in the tragic event that shook our community.

6000 block of Tacony Street:
47-year-old Duluth resident Erin Abramson and 15-year-old Duluth resident Jacob Nephew were located deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
4400 block of West 6th Street:
45-year-old Duluth resident Kathryn Nephew (Ramsland), 7-year-old Duluth resident Oliver Nephew were located deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
The suspect, 46-year-old Duluth resident Anthony Nephew, was also located deceased from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims’ families, friends, and loved ones involved in this tragic event.

A press conference will occur at noon today, Friday, November 8, at the Public Safety Building (2030 N Arlington Ave, Duluth, MN 55811). It’ll be livestreamed on the Duluth Police Department’s Facebook Page. Media is welcome to attend.

Death Investigation Update

Initial investigation shows that a 47-year-old female and a juvenile were located deceased inside a residence in the 6000 block of Tacony Street with what appears to be multiple gunshot wounds.

A suspect was identified and officers set up a perimeter at his residence in the 4400 block of West 6th Street.

Officers made entry into the home and located a 45-year-old female and a juvenile deceased from what appears to be gunshot wounds. The suspect, a 46-year-old male, was also located deceased with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Individuals were known to each other. There is no present threat to the community. Names won’t be released until next of kin are notified. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims’ families and loved ones involved in this tragic event.

This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation. A press conference is expected to be held tomorrow. More details will be released at a later time.

Death Investigation

At approximately 2:10 p.m., Thursday, November 7, Duluth Police responded to a check welfare call in the 6000 block of Tacony Street. Upon arrival, Officers located two deceased individuals with gunshot wounds. This remains a very active and ongoing investigation. Once there is more information to provide, we will share it with the community.
