Portion of E 11th Street to close temporarily for contractor work

[DULUTH, MN] Contractors will be closing a portion of E 11th Street adjacent to Myers-Wilkins Elementary School beginning Friday, November 15. The closure is anticipated to be in place through the end of January. The closure will be located just to the east of the intersection of Eighth Avenue E and Kenwood Avenue. The intersection of Eighth Avenue E and Kenwood Avenue/11th Street will remain open. Pedestrians should be able to access the school via local sidewalks, however minor detours around work areas may be necessary.

Drivers should avoid this area if possible. Those needing to travel through this area should consider detouring to Sixth Avenue E/Central Entrance and Skyline Parkway, or utilizing 11th Avenue E. Residents on side streets may experience increased local traffic during this work. Residents will still be able to access their homes on 11th Street from the west using Seventh Avenue E and will still have access to on-street parking, though some parking areas will be temporarily closed.
