City of Duluth to hold public information sessions and a public hearing regarding proposed water infrastructure surcharge

[DULUTH, MN] City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department staff will give a public informational presentation by electronic means regarding a proposed water infrastructure surcharge on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon. Members of the media and the public can monitor the presentation and provide public comment on the proposed surcharge through Microsoft Teams. Additionally, the Duluth Public Utilities Commission (DPUC) will hold an in-person public meeting for the proposed water infrastructure surcharge at the commencement of the regular DPUC meeting on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 5:15 pm in City Council Chambers, located on the third floor at City Hall, 411 W First Street, Duluth.

The presentation that will be given at the public meetings pertaining to the water infrastructure surcharge will be posted on the DPUC’s webpage, https://duluthmn.gov/boards-commissions/duluth-public-utilities-commission/, for public viewing prior to the meetings. The purpose of these public meetings will be to discuss the current state of the water utility, to explain the proposed water infrastructure surcharge, and to receive comments from the public regarding the proposed surcharge.

The DPUC will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed water infrastructure surcharge at the commencement of the regular DPUC meeting on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 5:15 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
