Officers Detain Individual Involved in Home Burglaries

At approximately 4 p.m., Sunday, March 30, Duluth Police responded to a report of a burglary on West 6th Street. Officers quickly arrived and followed fresh footprints in the snow to another home on North Central Avenue.

Officers determined the individual was not the resident of the home and quickly set up a perimeter. The individual inside the residence, later identified as 37-year-old William Paige, refused to comply with officers’ commands. Officers breached the door and utilized a drone as surveillance. Paige continued to be non-compliant and a taser was deployed, but was ineffective. K9 Vili was eventually deployed, and Paige was detained. Stolen property from the home on West 6th Street and North Central Avenue were located on his person.

Paige was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail for pending charges of 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Burglary, and Felony Obstructing.

Good work to Patrol Crew C for quickly bringing this incident to a safe resolution and returning stolen property to their rightful owners.
