New City of Duluth Law Enforcement Center Breaks Ground
City of Duluth and St. Louis County officials gathered today to break ground on the new Duluth Police Department Headquarters. The building will be connected to the existing St. Louis County Public Safety building located at 2030 North Arlington Avenue.
This 68,000 square foot addition will offer improved technology compatibility with state databases, increase energy efficiency, provide a more efficient and safe work place for employees, and make it easier for us to achieve our mission of providing the highest level of service to the citizens of the City of Duluth.
The new combined facility positions both agencies to realize operational efficiencies going forward.
The design team for the project is comprised of LHB Architectural Corporation of Duluth, Minnesota and SRBL of Deerfield, Illinois. The general contractor is RJS Construction Group of Superior, Wisconsin.
The building is expected to be completed by December of 2011.
