City of Duluth’s Planning and Economic Development department to host general building safety public information session May 28 for Building Safety Month 2025
[DULUTH, MN] As a part of its Building Safety Month 2025 offerings, the City of Duluth’s Planning and Economic Development department will host a brief public information session on Wednesday, May 28, at 8:00 AM, at the DECC for those that want to learn more about building code. This will be a simple 30-minute, surface-level presentation, suited for people unfamiliar with the basics of the Minnesota State Building Code. City staff from the Economic Development and Construction Services and Inspections divisions will be present at the event to engage the public in discussion about code and about building safety. City of Duluth staff is requesting that residents interested in attending the event to reserve their seat by sending an email to permittingservices@duluthmn.gov. Seating capacity is limited.
Created 45 years ago by the International Code Council, the purpose of Building Safety Month is to increase awareness of the importance of building codes and highlight the crucial role that building safety professionals play in the protection of billions of lives around the world. The adoption and administration of modern, regularly updated building codes helps individuals and businesses create safe and sustainable structures.
Safety and conservation tips and more are posted on the city’s Construction Services and Inspections webpage: https://duluthmn.gov/csi/building-safety-month-2025/.
