Update to Saturday's Fatal Stabbing
6/30/25 UPDATE:
Duluth Police are releasing the name of the victim involved in Saturday’s fatal stabbing. 49-year-old Anissa Cope. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of Anissa.
37-year-old Corddarro Cope was arrested on Saturday, June 28 in Pine County without incident. He was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail on pending charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Felony Domestic Assault.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
6/28/25 - 9:20pm UPDATE:
The suspect was located on I-35 in Pine County and was taken into custody without incident.
6/28/25 - 8:45pm ORIGINAL:
At approximately 7:30 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred in the 600 block of North 27th Avenue West. Upon arrival, a female was located deceased with stab wounds. Lifesaving measures were attempted but unsuccessful.
The suspected male fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers are actively searching for the vehicle and are requesting assistance from other agencies. The male and female are known to each other. This remains an active and ongoing scene.
