Police identify man killed in Duluth electrocution accident.

Willie Charles Kruger, age 40 of Duluth, died Friday after a ladder he and two others were attempting to move came in contact with an 8000 volt power line. Duluth Police, along with Gold Cross Ambulance and the Duluth Fire Department, were called to 15th Avenue East and Jefferson Street at 2:53 pm on the report of the electrocution accident.

Kruger and two males had been scraping old paint of a friend’s house when they attempted to move a forty foot extension ladder. The ladder came into contact with the power line and all three were knocked to the ground. Kruger was unresponsive and taken by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. One of the other males was taken by squad to St. Luke’s where he was checked. The third did not seek medical attention.

This was a terrible unfortunate accident for the Willie Kruger family and friends. Police want to remind citizens to use extreme caution when working near power lines attached to their homes and buildings. The investigation into the accident continues.
