Duluth Resident Sentenced to 72 Months in the US Federal Bureau of Prisons

On July 24, 2025, 36-year-old Duluth resident Deontate Leatherberry was federally sentenced to 72 months in the US Federal Bureau of Prisons. This is after the tremendous work from members of the Duluth Police Department for holding Leatherberry accountable for his actions. Leatherberry was involved in multiple narcotic violations, aggravated assaults, shootings, unlawful possession of firearms, and other incidents within the City of Duluth going back to 2020.
DPD's thankful for the partnership from the United States Attorney’s Office for holding this violent offender accountable.
