Lead water service line remediation project to prompt temporary closures and detours on 27th Avenue W beginning Monday, August 4

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] City of Duluth contractors will begin work on lead water service lines at various sites along 27th Avenue W, and a single service on W. Third Street, beginning August 4. Work on each site will necessitate the temporary closure of 27th Avenue West from Fifth to Tenth Streets, and the 2700 block of West Third Street.

These closures are anticipated to last through mid-September, and dates are subject to change without notice. Detours are posted, and the road closure map is updated with this info: https://duluthmn.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=24ea9af832db49259a9038ab1a3981eb.

 

 

The closures may cause travel delays. Pedestrians may be required to cross streets to avoid closed sidewalks. Side street access may not be available during the construction period. Drivers and pedestrians should consider alternate routes to move through the area, when able.
