SUBJECT: Detour planned for portion of 24th Avenue W beginning Monday, September 15

Detour planned for portion of 24th Avenue W beginning Monday, September 15, 2025

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] City of Duluth contractors will begin work on lead water service lines at various sites along 24th Avenue W beginning on Monday, September 15k, 2025. Work on each site will necessitate the temporary closure of 24th Avenue W from Superior Street to 10th Street.  Traffic signs will be posted and traffic detoured as follows:

Northbound: Superior Street > 27th Avenue W > 10th Street > 24th Avenue W

Southbound: 10th Street > 27th Avenue W > Superior Street > 24th Avenue W

 

The City of Duluth’s road closure map is updated with this info: Road Closure Map.

 

This closure is expected to last around two weeks. Work locations and timings are subject to change without notice.  Cross streets will remain open but may have temporary closures from time to time to move equipment, material, and personnel from site to site.

 

This detour will cause travel delays. Drivers and pedestrians should consider alternate routes to move through and to the area.
