Public meetings scheduled to discuss Neighborhood Rental Reform program
The City of Duluth is rolling out a series of public meetings to discuss proposed rental ordinance changes under its Neighborhood Rental Reform program. The program takes a comprehensive approach to address neighborhood quality of life issues related to density, parking, and blight.
The public is invited to comment at the Neighborhood Rental Reform meetings which are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, November 16, 7:00-9:00 p.m. - Grant Recreation Center, 901 East 11th Street (This meeting is sponsored by the Campus Neighbors group)
Friday, November 19, 10:00 am -12:00 Noon - Room 303, City Hall
Wednesday, December 1, 5:00-7:00 p.m. - City Center West, 5830 Grand Avenue
These changes address broad neighborhood quality of life issues:
- Neighborhood rental density,
- Related parking concerns,
- Increased enforcement of rental housing code provisions,
- Changes in rental housing fees.
The new rules could take effect in early 2011.
