Duluth Police Arrest Fugitive
At approximately 2:40 p.m., Monday, September 15 Duluth Police responded to a possible burglary in progress in the 1200 block of East 4th Street. Officers on D-Crew and Investigators quickly responded and established a perimeter. A juvenile male fled the scene on foot and officers initiated a foot pursuit. He was arrested without incident. The juvenile male continued to give false names to officers.
Upon further investigation into the juvenile’s name, on Tuesday, September 16, Duluth Police Investigations Unit and Analysts learned that the juvenile was from Atlanta, Georgia and had a warrant out for his arrest for homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, hijacking of a motor vehicle, and theft. He was brought to Arrowhead Juvenile Center awaiting extradition back to Georgia.
This incident shows the tremendous thorough work of all our staff coordinating together to identify a fugitive and to ensure the safety of our community.
