32nd Avenue W Creek watershed stormwater resilience improvements underway

[DULUTH, MN] Contractor work is underway for the City of Duluth Public Work and Utilities 32nd Avenue W Creek Watershed Stormwater Resilience Improvements project.

The project includes construction of various drainage improvements in the 32nd Avenue W Creek watershed, which is generally located in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood between 27th Avenue W and the Wheeler Athletic Complex. The drainage improvements include modifications and additions to existing storm sewer pipes, catch basins, culvert crossings, and stormwater inlets. This work will increase resilience to stormwater infrastructure, reducing localized flooding and drainage problems while updating aged stormwater utility infrastructure to modern standards.

Work is scheduled to pause mid-October 2025 for the winter season and begin again in spring of 2026. The project will be completed in late summer of 2026.

This work is funded by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Implementation Grants for Stormwater Resilience and the City of Duluth Stormwater Utility Fund.
