City of Duluth announces public meeting for Campus Connector segments four and five project

 

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth invites residents and stakeholders to a public meeting to discuss the upcoming project constructing segments four and five of the Campus Connector trail along College Street from Junction Avenue to Woodland Avenue, and along St. Marie Street from Carver Avenue to Vermillion Road. The meeting will provide an overview of the project's goals, design elements, timeline, and construction impacts.

Project Overview

The project will construct two of the remaining three segments of the multi-use Campus Connector trail running from Lowell Elementary and Boulder Ridge student housing to the Lakewalk. Other key improvements include:

  • Water main replacement along College Street and lead service line replacements
  • Reconstruction of St. Marie Street from Woodland Avenue to Wallace Avenue
  • Mill and overlay of the remaining roadway sections
  • Construction of bumpouts and installation of Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) for safer pedestrian crossings.

 

Meeting Details

Date: Thursday, October 9, 2025

Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Location: Chester Park Commons (Room 105), 31 W College Street, Duluth, MN

Parking is available in the Maroon Lot R2, 10 W Clover Street.

The design team will provide a  brief presentation at 5:00 pm to discuss the project and the design. Community members are invited to attend at any time during the meeting that is convenient for them. City staff and the design team will be available to discuss the project and gather feedback throughout the meeting.

Design engineering is being conducted by SEH, Inc. with oversight by the City of Duluth. Funding for the project is provided by local utility, Minnesota State Aid for Streets, and Federal Active Transportation funds.
