City of Duluth announces second annual snowplow naming contest

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth is announcing its second annual snowplow naming contest. Following the popularity of last year’s first-ever contest, the City of Duluth will begin accepting submissions for suggested names of a City of Duluth snowplow today, October 22.  Any Duluth resident may submit their most creative name for one of the City’s snowplow truck fleet via a form on the City’s website for a chance to win a prize package that will once more make the winner the envy of their neighborhood.

Name submissions are accepted online through October 29. The collected name submissions will be narrowed to a field of finalists, which will be announced on City of Duluth social media and the City of Duluth website on November 3, at which time the public can vote online through November 7 for their favorite snowplow name. The name that receives the largest number of votes wins. The person submitting the winning name will be notified on November 11 that their name was selected. The newly-named snowplow will debut at the Christmas City of the North Parade. The resident with the winning name submission will get the opportunity to take a photo with the plow and the crew, to ride in the snowplow during the parade, and will receive unlimited bragging rights.
