City of Duluth to close a portion of E Superior Street tomorrow, November 5, 2025

[DULUTH, MN] In order to expedite the completion of the E Superior Street mill and overlay project, the City of Duluth will close the portion of E Superior Street between 40th and 45th Avenues E to through traffic. The closure will begin tomorrow, November 5, 2025 and is expected to last through the end of this week.

The City of Duluth’s contractor, Ulland Brothers Construction, Inc., began work on a mill and overlay project the week of October 23, 2025 on East Superior Street between 33rd and 45th Avenues E. While the bulk of the project has been completed under traffic, with coming colder temperatures and inclement weather, the contractor must close the road from 40th to 45th Avenues E to expedite the paving of the roadway.

Drivers should detour to London Road to avoid the work zone.

No Parking signage will be posted as necessary. Vehicles left on a no-parked segment of street will be towed at the owner’s expense.

This project is expected to be substantially complete and open to all traffic in mid-November.
