City of Duluth calls for nominations from the public for the 2025 Good Neighbor Award

[DULUTH, MN] In his first State of the City address, Mayor Roger Reinert called on Duluth residents to seek opportunities to improve the wellbeing of their neighborhoods and community by helping where help is needed. The City of Duluth is now seeking residents' nominations for the second annual Good Neighbor Award on the City's website.

“Simple acts of picking up litter on an evening dog walk, freshening and fixing the things we can, coaching youth sports, and checking in on elderly neighbors show others we care,” said Mayor Reinert in 2024 when launching the first call for nominations. “When we care, others will care, too. We know many Duluthians are quietly doing this work and have been for some time. The Good Neighbor Award is intended to highlight those efforts.”

Residents may nominate a Duluth resident who goes the extra mile to make their neighborhood a better place by entering pertinent information, including a brief description of why the resident is being nominated, at: https://duluthmn.gov/mayor/good-neighbor-awards/.

Nominees must be City of Duluth residents. Nominations are due by 11:59 pm on December 31, 2025. Mayor Reinert will present the Good Neighbor Award at the 2026 State of the City address.
